“There is power that comes to women when they give birth. They don’t ask for it, it simply invades them. Accumulates like clouds on the horizon and passes through, carrying the child with it.” Sheryl Feldman

Many people have asked me to share my secrets around how I birthed Jack in 4 hours and 15 minutes. I really don’t have any secrets. My body did what it needed to do and Jack’s body did what his needed to do. With that said, I will share some things that I did during pregnancy that supported my body’s ability to have a smooth birth at home. These include:

  • receiving prenatal chiropractic adjustments at least once a week
  • receiving regular prenatal massage
  • giving my body good nutrition
  • exercising regularly
  • having a strong belief that as a woman I am designed to give birth
  • having a strong mind/body connection
  • having a strong belief in the innate wisdom of my body and Jack’s body
  • having a birthing team that was nurturing, knowledgeable, supportive and respectful of my philosophy around natural birth.
