At Well Being Chiropractic Family Health, it is our mission to educate, empower and inspire people toward health, healing and wholeness through the chiropractic adjustment and vitalistic lifestyle. We love seeing your entire family from babies all the way up to grandparents because our passion is helping to create healthy families.  In honor of Mother’s day, this month we wanted to take a moment to focus on how chiropractic care fits in with pregnancy, infants, and children.

Early-and-Late-PregnancyChiropractic care is safe and effective during pregnancy.  As the baby grows, the mother’s center of gravity shifts forward stressing the joints.  Pregnancy hormones help to loosen the ligaments allowing baby to grow, but can result in postural imbalances.  Regular chiropractic care during pregnancy can help balance the pelvis, provide relief from low-back pain and place the baby in the optimal fetal position for birth. The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment with the goal of reducing the effects of sacral subluxation and SI joint dysfunction.  This technique can improve the neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis.  Many women have experienced faster and more comfortable deliveries after having seen a pregnancy chiropractor.

baby jackDuring the birth, there are a variety of conditions that may lead to or require doctor interventions. That is often where a child will get their first subluxation.  Because of this, the single most important time for an infant to see a chiropractor and get checked and adjusted if necessary,  is right after birth.  There is an amazing amount of neuro development during the first few years of a child’s life. That is why we at Well Beings stay up to date on all the pediatric chiropractic research and encourage all our families to bring their kids in to get checked by our pediatric certified chiropractors.

We have all noticed a rise in childhood issues such as colic and reflux, earaches, allergies, autism and sensory processing disorders. We encourage everyone to be proactive and help your children to maintain a healthy spine and nervous system.  It is far easier to grow healthy kids than to fix broken adults!
