I am extremely passionate about pregnancy and natural birth. This passion has not changed even though I have been out of practice mothering our son for 14 months. I would say that I have an even deeper passion and understanding of the journey of pregnancy now that I look at it from a mother’s eye and heart. Every day Jack does something that puts me in a state of awe and wonder of the magnificence of the human brain and body. Let me give you an example. The other night we were eating dinner. Jacob and I still choose to refrain from giving Jack any refined sugar, dairy or wheat. However, Jacob and I will eat these items in moderation. Contradiction, I know. That’s a topic for another time. We’re figuring that out. Anyway, Jack saw something on my plate that was not on his plate and was requesting that thing that was not on his plate. On the surface, that may seem like no big deal. Think about all that is going on for that interaction to take place. To name a few of the players, you’ve got sight, color recognition and differentiation, shape recognition and differentiation, smell, activation of the part of the brain that pulls thought together, activation of that part of the brain that coordinates speech and activation of that part of the brain that communicates speech.. AND he is only 14 months young! This interaction reminded me of how critically important it is for the brain and body to connect and communicate effectively. This effective brain body communication starts IN THE WOMB. The state of the womb is heavily dependent on the state of mom, her physical body, her mental body and her emotional body. This communication is optimal when there are no interferences/subluxations present in the spine. People need what it is we do. I know in my heart of hearts that when a woman is under regular chiropractic care during pregnancy her pregnancy is better. A healthy pregnancy is one of the most important factors in giving your child a healthy start to life. Chiropractic care helps balance the body, period. This is so, so, so important for pregnant women. Chiropractic adjustments during pregnancy can help in many ways. Here are some of the benefits a pregnant woman may experience when under regular chiropractic care from a Webster Certified chiropractor during pregnancy:
- More comfortable pregnancy
- Prepares the pelvis for a safer, faster and easier birth
- Can help with baby’s positioning
- Pain relief from:
- Headaches
- Pelvic pain
- Sciatica
- Round ligament pain
- Pubic symphysis pain.
Amazing things can happen when the body is in balance through chiropractic care.
Thank you for supporting Jacob, Jack and me as we took/take the time to nurture our family in Lakewood CO.
Happy New Year and many blessings for an abundantly joyful 2013! May your year be full of balance, health, wealth and all things that bring you happiness.
